Jan Brock went inside her mother's house on Riverside Drive May 27, when she heard a loud ruckus outside to find her Toyota Highlander being stolen right out of the driveway.

She immediately called Ormond Beach Police, who worked with the Daytona Beach Police to catch Jason McClain after he drove the car into a telephone pole and was arrested.

"They caught him in like, 10 minutes," Brock said. "The police officer told me it was just one of those times where everything came together."

Earlier that day, OBPD received two reports of car windows being smashed, and purses being stolen out of the front seats during at wedding at The Casements. Though only those two were reported, Public Information Officer Keith Walker said there could be more.

"I just got lucky that my guy was an idiot and made so much noise," Brock said. "I try not to leave anything in my car, but now I'm going to do things a lot differently."

According to the police report, McClain said he didn't have anything to do with the Casements car break-ins.

This is an ongoing story, check back for updates.
