5:48 p.m. — 300 Block of Rio Pinar Drive
Burglary. The victim has a two-car garage with two separate doors. When she got up in the morning, she found that both doors were open. She said she believes that when she got home the night before, she reached out to close the garage door but accidentally hit the wrong button and opened the other door.
She said her beach cruiser bike was missing.

1:20 p.m. — First Block of South Beach Street
Theft. The victim said she went to the library and put her purse down to use a computer. When she turned back around, the purse was missing.
Long way home
7:25 p.m. — 1400 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Fleeing and attempting to elude. A truck was stolen in New Smyrna Beach but the victim had left his cell phone in the truck so he could follow it using the Find my Phone feature.
He tracked it to the 1400 block of West Granada Boulevard, and Ormond Beach officers converged on the scene. This apparently startled the driver who drove recklessly through the parking lot.
The driver then headed east on West Granada Boulevard, followed by police. Police turned off their sirens and lights when it became apparent he was fleeing. Due to traffic the suspect was unable to reach speeds over 50 mph.
Volusia County Air One helicopter followed the truck, which made a U-turn and began traveling east. The truck was eventually disabled by stop sticks by deputies in DeLand.
The suspect agreed to talk and said he stole a truck in Bithlo and abandoned it in Port Canaveral. He then walked to Edgewater where he stole the truck that was stopped by police. He said he was trying to get home to Orlando.
He was transported to the county jail.
Darn cat
4:15 p.m. — 300 Block of Wilmette Circle
Burglary. When the victims got up in the morning, they saw the garage door was open. They believe the cat may have walked in front of the door sensor, preventing the door from closing.
A 65-inch television and a pressure washer were missing from the garage. A bicycle and a stereo player had been moved outside to the side of the garage.
Card troubles
8:34 a.m. — First Block of Brookwood Drive
Fraud. The victim said he had lost a credit card. He has his pension deposited in the card, and someone withdrew his pension money from the card at an ATM in Daytona Beach.
He got a new card and it worked fine for awhile but then it stopped working.
The card company told him that the card was cancelled and the new one was sent to an address in Daytona Beach. He told them it was not him who cancelled the card and tried to get the address where it was sent but they would not give it to him.
The victim cancelled the card completely and now has his pension checks mailed.
