What: Slam poets, music, and all styles of poetry. Open mic. Add lines to the Renga/Chain  poem

Details: Sponsored by the CHI Creative Happiness Institute, Ormond MainStreet, OBAD Ormond Beach Arts District, and Tomoka Poets.

What: Seabreeze High School band and orchestra concert

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29

Where: Seabreeze High School auditorium, 2700  N.Oleander Drive., Daytona Beach

Cost: Free

Day of Remembrance

What: Community event to mourn those who died in the Holocaust.

When: 7 p.m., Sunday, April 30

Where: Temple Beth El, 579 N. Nova Road.

Details: Guest speaker is Holocaust survivor, Gene Klein who was sent to Aushwitz in the spring of 1944. The event is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Volusia and Flagler County.

What: Artist reception

When: 6 p.m., Friday, May 5

Where: Frame of Mind Art Gallery, 23 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Artist Karlene McConnell is a University of Central Florida fine arts graduate. She has a strong background in art education and is currently a full-time artist. Her art has been displayed in galleries from Florida to New York.
