Ormond 17 year old earns private pilot license

Simon Heaster earned his wings at the youngest age the Federal Aviation Administration allows.

Simon Heaster, an Ormond Beach resident, recently earned his private pilots license. Heaster is only 17, the youngest age that the Federal Aviation Administration allows for someone to earn their private pilots license. 

He recently was accepted to the University of Miami and will graduate this year from the IB program at Spruce Creek HS in the top 5% of his class.
