Bogus charge

2:52 p.m. — 1100 Block of West Granada Boulevard

Fraud. The victim said she got a call from the suspect who said he was from Florida Power and Light. The suspect said the payment from her business was late and she would be disconnected that day. He told her to go to an FPL payment center and pay $995.92

The address he provided was a Walgreens and she was to get four Green Dot cards that totaled the amount due. She was told to call the suspect back and gave him the numbers on the cards, which she did.

She then called FPL and was told she was not being disconnected. She said she wished to file charges and provided the phone number that she called.

Low fraud amount

2:59 p.m. — 100 Block of West Granada Boulevard

Fraud. The victim said he found a charge of $85 on his business credit card that he did not authorize. He said he still possessed the actual card.

He called the company that billed the amount, a sheet metal fabricator, and was told that another business owner bought two galvanized pans.

The officer contacted the suspect that bought the pans and she said she had used her own credit card over the phone. She said her second payment posted to her own card, so she believes an error was made by the sheet metal fabricator. She said she would not commit a fraud for $85.
