2:32 p.m. — First Block of Tropical Falls Drive
Theft. The victim said his wife’s wedding ring, valued at $5,000, was missing from the safe. It has a gold band and three diamonds. He suspected a relative.
The officer questioned the relative, and told her if she took the ring and pawned it, she would be guilty of a felony. The suspect asked, “What if someone else pawned it?”

12:31 a.m. — Arroyo Parkway and South Beach Street
Attempting to Elude, Grand Theft Auto, No Valid Driver’s License. The officer saw a car approaching at an estimated speed of 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. As it went by, the officer noted it looked like a car that had been reported stolen. He followed with lights activated, but the car accelerated and “blacked out,” meaning it turned off its lights.
The officer stopped the chase and radioed the location of the car as it drove recklessly through the neighborhood.
Another officer saw the car at another location, still driving at a high rate of speed. The car was later found abandoned at the end of a dead end street, and it was found to be stolen out of Port Orange.
A resident said she saw two males run from the car over to the next street.
Later, a woman came out on a porch with a male and said to an officer, “He has something to tell you.” The report said she was “looking scathingly” at the male.
Asked what he needed to say, the male said, “I was driving the car.”
He then invoked his right to remain silent. Cocaine and miscellaneous items believed stolen were found in the car. The suspect was found to be out on bond for fleeing and eluding and grand theft auto.
Bathroom bus stop
4:51 a.m. — 1500 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Trespassers. An officer was dispatched to a store for a call about a woman that had been in a bathroom for three hours. The employees wanted a check done on the suspect.
When the officer arrived, she had left the bathroom and said she was fine. She said she was waiting for a bus. She had left a purse in the bathroom, and on the counter was tissue paper and a long string.
In the purse, there were medical syringes, burnt spoons, small pieces of tin foil, plastic straws cut into small pieces and two prescription bottles of Oxycodone.

3:39 a.m. — Palmetto Avenue and Ponce de Leon Drive
Traffic Stop. The officer stopped a car for speeding, and the driver had glassy, bloodshot eyes and a smell of alcohol on his breath.
He was asked to exit the car, but at first he refused, saying he was only going to a house a couple of houses down the road.
He said he had not been drinking and does not smoke marijuana either.
A K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, so a search was conducted. The officers found two small burnt marijuana cigarettes, known as roaches, under the driver’s seat. There was also a cup of wine in the vehicle.
