The power of social media
10:12 p.m. — 300 Block of John Anderson Drive
Allowing minors to have alcohol, drugs; possessionof marijuana. Police responded to a large house party with juveniles. A sign on the property said, “House Party, Respect the House.” When they arrived, they saw multiple people running through the backyard to the next street. About 150 juveniles were estimated to be in the residence.
When the officers were invited in, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol and cannabis. The juveniles were told to call their parents and were released to them when they appeared.
The suspect, the homeowner, was asked about the party. She said her 14-year-old daughter had about 20 friends over but the party then got out of control. She said the teens brought their own alcohol. Her daughter said she did not put it on social media but several of her friends did.
Marijuana was found in the house.
The officer noted that the suspect knew alcohol was being consumed but did not call police. She was charged and released with a notice to appear.

Here’s a tip
4:24 p.m. — 1300 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Information. A restaurant owner said that two female employees altered credit card orders to improve their tips over a four-week period. While the officer was there, the two suspects reported for their shift.
After a customer would leave, the suspects would go into the computer and raise the tip amount on the bill, the victim said. The servers denied involvement, but were terminated.
The officers told the owner that victims would need to be established and the investigation would continue. The owner said she expected to hear from the victims in a week.

1:38 p.m. — 200 Block of South Atlantic Avenue
Car Break. A car break reported and the officer found damage to the rear, driver-side window. The owner said nothing was missing and it didn’t look like anyone entered the car. She said a GPS was sitting on the passenger floorboard and it was still there.
Stole tools; left tools
7:47 a.m. — First Block of Business Center Drive
Burglary. The victim at the business showed the officer a steel door that had been pried open with extensive damage to the dead bolt and handle. He said multiple tools and equipment had been taken from the shop. There were a large pile of items by the door as if ready to be loaded up.
A glove was found outside and a glove was found inside. They did not match and did not belong to any employees. Also left behind were two crow bars. Also, a green bag was found with bolt cutters, another crow bar, hammer, chisel, grinder, channel locks and various burglary tools that did not belong to the shop.
The thieves took several tools and hardware items.
