The Ormond Beach Police Department is adding additional fencing

Chief Jesse Godfrey said the north part of the building currently does not have a fence.

In order to make the Ormond Beach Police Department more secure, additional fencing is being added to the north side of the building, located at 170 W. Granada Blvd.

The city's engineers recently took measurements and modified drawings for the Police Fence Project, according to the city's weekly report. Chief Jesse Godfrey said the project is needed to make OBPD more secure. 

In other police news: 

  • The Ormond Beach Police Department hired two new officers, Justin Pereira and Zachary Fisk.

  • OBPD recently started the 5-0 club as a way to reach out to middle school students after they graduated the DARE program in elementary school.
