Two killed in motorcycle car crash on U.S. 1

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Monday night.

Two people are dead after a crash at North U.S. 1 and Wilmette Avenue. 

Officers from the Ormond Beach Police Department responded to a crash around 9 p.m. Aug. 22 involving a motorcycle and a passenger car. The motorcycle was southbound on U.S. 1 and the passenger car was turning left from U.S. 1 onto Wilmette Avenue. The motorcycle struck the front passenger door of the car.

The car's front passenger — identified as Leah Bann, 17 — was entrapped and later died at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle — Michael Rosales, 24 — was transported to the hospital via ambulance, but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Both of the victims were Ormond Beach residents.
