Video games stolen from hotel room

June 16

Video Gamer Thief

7:10 p.m. —711 S. Atlantic Ave.

Burglary. A Georgia resident reported a blue Jansport backpack stolen from his hotel room in Atlantic Cove. The backpack contained his Playstation Four, two controllers, power and HDMI cables, an external hard drive and three video games. One of the controllers had a batman sticker on it.

All of the stolen items are estimated to cost $770. Victim said his hotel room door had a problem with the lock and would sometimes stay unlocked.

Wal-Mart Jewel Heist

4:20 p.m. —1521 W. Granada Blvd.

Fraud. A 60-year-old woman left her wallet at Wal-Mart which contained 6 checks, an 18 karat gold ring valued at $5,000 and a pendant, all of which were missing once she retrieved her wallet. Out of the 6 checks, money was withdrawn from two at a total of $1,009.

The following weekend, the woman left her wallet at Wal-Mart once again. She has been unable to find it since.

June 17

800 Vinyl Records Stolen

6:19 p.m. —52 Sandcastle Drive.

Theft. An estimated 800 classic rock vinyl records from artists like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd and Led Zeplin. The victim told police that she had allowed the suspect to stay temporarily in her home, with the intention of helping out around the house with things like mowing the lawn and repairing fixtures. The victim’s son noticed that her collection of records was missing when he came to check on her.

Though the records total almost $5,000, victim said they were also of incredible sentimental value and like most classic vinyls, unable to be fully replaced.
