Woman chases man on bicycle after finding her car window smashed at Bailey Riverbridge Gardens

Her iPhone 6 was stolen.

A woman told police that her car was broken into while she and her husband were taking a short walk around Bailey Riverbridge Gardens in Ormond Beach around 3 p.m. April 8. 

Upon returning, they found their passenger front window smashed and the woman's iPhone 6 and purse were taken. The woman told police she then saw a white male riding a bicycle away over the Granada Bridge. She went to chase him, but said he "got away really fast." 

She said she remembers her car being locked. 

Items taken include: 

  • $7 in cash 
  • An iPhone 6 valued at $600
  • A wallet and purse valued at $80
  • Four miscellaneous CFE Union and American Express credit cards 

The police do not have any suspects. 

Gun stolen from car

A man reported that his Glock 43, 9 mm was stolen from his car between April 7 and April 8. He told police that he left the car unlocked for several hours after going to Pirana Grill, Beaver Bar and friend's houses. 

The morning of April 8, he checked his car and discovered his firearm missing from the front center console. He told police the console was left as normal and that all other items in the vehicle were untouched. 

Items taken include: 

  • A Glock 43, 9 mm valued at $500
  • A black hostler valued at $40 

A BOLO for the stolen firearm was created.
