Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly has been treated for a knee injury incurred during a drug raid in April, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Staly, who had sustained a 3-mm tear in the meniscal cartilage of his left knee when he joined members of the Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team to serve a narcotics search warrant in the Mondex area of western Flagler County, was released from outpatient surgery at around 9:30 a.m. on June 1.

“While I may be working from home for the next few days, with our technology, I am completely connected to the agency," Staly said. "The doctors and staff that have been treating this injury have all been great, and a full recovery is expected. I look forward to being back on my Friday night patrols and raiding drug houses with our team soon."
