Dear Editor:

I talked to the city manager the day the antisemitic vandalism was discovered in Flagler Beach, and I expressed my disappointment that the mayor, chairman nor city manager did not step up and make a public denouncement of the vandalism.

This is not freedom of speech and should be considered a hate crime.

I'm disappointed that the city leadership has not taken a more serious stance against this heinous act.

As chairman, I would have let it be known that we, as the city leaders, strongly oppose this behavior, and will support our law enforcement to help track down the individual.

I would have also let the business owners and community know how much we stand together to push back on this type of racism.
