Ormond Beach MainStreet held its 28th annual celebration Monday, Oct. 16, on the rooftop terrace of the Ormond Memorial Art Museum.
Executive Director Becky Parker welcomed returning board members, as well as three new members Caryn Baker, Billie Jo Kaler and Bill Rice. The 2023-2024 board of directors was also inducted.
The annual gathering highlighted the accomplishments of Ormond Beach MainStreet. The group received its national accreditation to MainStreet America and enjoyed its most successful Celtic Festival, welcoming visitors from every state this year. Updating its strategic plan for the first time since 2016, the board also added Associate Director Chris Wells.
“I’ve been here almost nine years…everything we do points back to the people," Parker said. "It is the residents that we work on behalf of to bring a better quality of life. It is the city officials and staff members that devote their entire life’s work to Ormond Beach.”
Parker continued by thanking the collective efforts of the attendees.
“It’s the small business owners … We all know work night and day to do what they love here in Ormond Beach, and of course, the volunteers, our board members who devote their nights and weekends away from their families because they believe so much in what we do," she said.
Ormond Beach Main Street is a local, volunteer-led nonprofit that sponsors community events throughout the year, including Christmas in July, the Ormond Beach Celtic Festival and the upcoming Riverfest Seafood Festival on Nov. 18-19 at Rockefeller Gardens.
