Halifax Health has opened a new Intensive Medical Care Unit on the eighth floor of the France Tower.

With the addition of the eighth-floor ICU, Halifax Health now has a total of 36 ICU rooms, according to a press release.

Some of the features of the new ICU include:

10% larger private patient rooms.
Eight ADA accessible rooms.
A dedicated family lounge area.
Innovative Hoyer lifts for easy and safe patient repositioning.

"The construction of this unit represents a significant investment in the community's health, with a total cost of $22 million," the press release states. "This investment underscores Halifax Health's commitment to advancing healthcare in the area and ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients."
