Congratulations to Volusia County Chair Jeff Brower who continues to demonstrate his leadership!
"Liberty is freedom wrapped in morals and respect for your fellow man. We have no right to infringe on the security or safety of our neighbors," as quoted by Chairman Brower. It is refreshing to see leadership is still alive amongst all the muck dealt out everyday! His actions have always demonstrated character over ego. Bravo!
“Leadership is about submission to duty, not elevation to power.” This was once said by First Nations actor of Cree and Stoney descent, Gordon Tootoosis. This quote about leadership rings true today and will always stand the test of time.
Tootoosis was a descendant of Yellow Mud Blanket, brother of the famous Cree leader Pîhtokahanapiwiyin. He was acclaimed for his commitment to preserving his culture against resistance as well as so called progress and to telling his people's stories for preservation through the generations.
How about preserving our culture, ecosystem, precious lands, way of life and peaceful existence here in Volusia County, Ormond Beach, Fort Pierce, Jacksonville and all throughout Florida?
