The Tillandsia Garden Club hosted 16 local garden clubs for the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District VI meeting on April 23.

"Creating a Buzz in the Garden" was the theme for the event, which was attended by 75 women at the Palmetto Club in Daytona Beach. Club members from Palm Coast to Melbourne attended the event.

In celebrating the importance and awareness of respecting bees, Tillandsia members wore bee costumes and antennae. Doug McGinnis, a  local veteran beekeeper, discussed the importance of respecting bees and encouraged local pollination by mowing less and using less pesticides.

Julie Johnson and Carolyn Bacci, of Ormond Beach, were the event chairwomen.
