14-year-old arrested for carjacking and strong-arm robbery after stealing a car from Ormond Beach Elementary

The vehicle was later recovered in Daytona Beach.

A 14-year-old suspect was arrested March 22 for stealing a car out of the Ormond Beach Elementary School parking lot.

Around 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, the suspect snatched the car keys for a 2008 Ford Focus from the victim’s hand and then took the vehicle without her permission. The car was located in Daytona Beach, and the suspect was arrested after he abandoned the vehicle.

Officers from the Ormond Beach Police Department are currently investigating.
