Sixty-four years ago, Flo and Larry Dann ran away together. On Aug. 14, the couple, known locally as "Mr. and Mrs. Dance," celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at the Ormond Beach Senior Center, where they have hosted weekly dances for more than two decades.

Teddy Blauvelt, manager at the center, said the couple have “incredible energy and dancing ability.”

The Danns announced that they would not be able to continue hosting the dances, at the anniversary celebration, but they said they loved all of the time they got to spend with friends at the center through the years.

“Dancing keeps people alive,” Flo Dann said. “That’s why I did it. I truly believe it keeps them here.”
