You might want to think about walking instead of driving for the next few months.

With the residents seemingly getting used to the construction on Granada Boulevard and Hand Avenue, city officials decided now would be a good time to begin construction on 11 other roads in town.

Nova Road, Wilmette Avenue and the entire length of U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach are among the roads scheduled for demolition and reconstruction.

“They’re just getting old,” someone close to Mayor Ed Kelley said he might have said at one point. “It’s time.”

He added that residents should plan to walk around town, instead of drive, for the next several months. That should help with overall health and BMI, he said.

After the medians are constructed, there will be zero left turns permitted in the city limits.

“All those right turns? I get dizzy just thinking about it,” said Willie Wilson, a resident who frequently drives around town and enjoys turning left.

In response to Wilson’s concerns, the city has hired a motion expert who can prescribe medication that helps with dizziness.

And if you believe all that, you’re crazy. APRIL FOOL’S!
