Asbury short film concert returns to MOAS on Feb. 5

Asbury Shorts, continuing its 40th anniversary year as New York City’s longest-running short film exhibition and touring show, returns to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach on Saturday, Feb. 5, to present their nationally recognized “Short Film Concert” — twice in one day. These specially-selected, globally-honored films will blast onto the screen in the Root Family Auditorium at MOAS at 2 p.m. The show will be repeated at 7 p.m. that same evening. The screenings are strongly recommended for ages 16 and way above. Doug LeClaire will once again serve as master of ceremonies for both shows.

An Asbury Short Film Concert provides attendees an opportunity to view award-winning films from current and past years in one sitting. U.S. film festival “Best of Show” winners are combined with international honorees in a fast-paced eclectic and highly entertaining lineup featuring the best in short film comedy, drama, and animation. Because of the pandemic, Asbury Shorts USA is continuing its 40th-anniversary celebration into 2022 and the two-hour program will include past audience favorites from over the many years.

Asbury Shorts “concerts” have been presented at Dante Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.; The Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida, Summer Stage in Central Park, New York City; Director’s Guild in Manhattan, The AERO Theatre in Santa Monica, California; Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York; Royal Festival Hall in London; Osprey Arts Center in Nova Scotia, Canada and the Leminske Theater in Berlin to name a few of the prestigious venues where audiences have enjoyed these amazing films.

The Museum of Arts and Sciences is the primary art, science, and history museum in Central Florida. The area’s largest museum, MOAS is nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate.
