Timber Hawkeye, bestselling author of "Buddhist Boot Camp" and "Faithfully Religionless," will stop by Ormond Beach July 16 as a part of his U.S. Book Tour.

Hawkeye offers a secular and non-sectarian approach to being at peace with the world (both within and around us), and his intention is to awaken, enlighten, enrich and inspire everyone around him. He teaches religion is more than just being religious — it's being a good person.

"It's better to be Budda-like than buddist," he said. "Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your actions do."

Hawkeye is currently traveling in his car and couch surfing his way across the country to make connections with people and spread his message. He said he used to be trapped by his need to work full time, have a nice condo, a sports car and a perfect body. But once he let go of those things, and stopped considering them important, he found an uncomplicated life to be much more enjoyable.

"We all struggle," he said. "But we hide it instead of talking about it. We need to stop pointing the finger away and look within at how we're contrinuting to our own suffering."
