Back to School: Daytona State College ranked among nation's best and most affordable online bachelor's programs

The college has not raised tuition in eight years, according to its president.

The U.S. News and World Report has placed Daytona State College in the top tier of the nation's best online bachelor's programs for the sixth consecutive year, according to a press release by the institution.

DSC ranked 23rd among more than 300 colleges and universities surveyed. The college was at the top of another list of least expensive public online bachelor's degree programs for in-state students, with credits costing $92 each. Tuition at DSC has also not increased in eight years, said DSC President Tom LoBasso.

LoBasso said the college has lowered tuition instead. According to the release, the tuition cost of earning an online bachelor's degree at DSC is estimated at $11,000. The U.S. News and World Report cited that the average cost per credit hour is $305, with total tuition coming in at $37,200.
