Dear Editor:

I recently attended a very informative meeting at the Ormond Beach Library. Commissioner Susan Persis told of her hope for banning plastic straws in our city. I learned a lot from other speakers who were in favor of banning plastics. Commissioner Persis even invited "Mr. Persis" to speak for three minutes. Soon after the meeting, my husband and I enjoyed a chicken dinner at Boston Market on Granada Boulevard and were happy to observe that they had only paper straws. We have many reasons to like Boston Market including the servers like Kyle — now we have another reason, No Plastic Straws!
