Big Headz Beauty Bar opens in Ormond Beach

A new family-owned, full-service beauty bar has opened up in Ormond Beach.

Amanda Smith, along with the help of her husband and occasionally her five children, is working to make Big Headz Beauty Bar a great place to visit. They have been living in the community for seven years and this will be Smith’s first entrepreneurial venture.

Prior to opening her own business, Smith was working for a large haircut chain establishment. When the pandemic forced a different business to close, it created an open space and an opportunity for Smith to open up her own salon, something she had always wanted to do.

While opening any new business is often a challenge, Smith said she believes the beauty bar’s focus on providing excellent customer service will help the place stand out.

“I feel like if I can run my household with five children, I can make this work," she said.

Big Headz celebrated its ribbon cutting on April 8, with a turnout of over 40 people. They provide service for the entire family, including hair, skin, facials, chemical peels and teeth whitening. They are located at 1345 W. Granada Blvd., and can be reached at 281-3023.
