Ron Rice to speak at first Hometown Business Alliance meeting

Hawaiian Tropic founder Ron Rice is scheduled as the featured guest speaker at the first meeting of the Hometown Business Alliance, a new small businesses networking group, Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Lucky’s, in Daytona Beach. Rice will share stories of his perseverance and success leading to his founding of Hawaiian Tropic, which, since being acquired by Energizer, is now Ormond’s top employer.

According to HBA Director Sean Donovan, more than 125 local entrepreneurs were expected to be in attendance.

“When I moved to Ormond, I started to realize there were certain segments of disconnect,” Donovan said, of local business and political groups. “Let us be the bridge between those political gaps.”

The HBA’s next monthly event will take place Oct. 9, in Ormond Beach.
