Dog groomer grooms its 100th dog, a garage company celebrate getting older, from restaurant to realty, and, from school to solar.

Put it in the books: Barkle shines 100th pooch

Barkle N Shine Self-Serve Dog Wash and Grooming, at 1370 N. U.S. 1, groomed its 100th dog this month.

A Yorkshire terrier, Spike Coltelli was groomed for free, for notching this milestone.

Cathy and Dennis Sciortino opened the store last summer.

Matty’s Garage hits nine years

On Sunday, Jan. 27, Matty’s Garage Door Sales & Service Inc. will ring its ninth anniversary in Ormond Beach.

Former Billy’s Tap Room owners get ‘realty’

Monk and Jackie Noell, former owners of Bally’s Tap Room & Grill have joined staff at Adams, Cameron & Co. Ormond Beach office, 759 W. Granada Blvd.

A Daytona Beach native, Monk Noell graduated from Seabreeze High School before moving out of state and into the food industry. He, along with his wife, Jackie, owned Billy’s Tap Room from 1990 to 2006. Jackie Noell started in real estate in 1972.

The couple are members of several real estate associations, as well as the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences and other community groups.

Nancy Sims-Bartlett, an 11-year resident who manages the Mediterranean condo complex, in Daytona Beach, also recently joined staff at Adams Cameron’s Ormond office, as did Christina Schroeder, former United Artist TV multimedia consultant and owner of Daytona Twin Tec.

Former entrepreneur, teacher joins Wayne’s Solar

Amy Morse has lived in the area since 1975, and she used to own a garage door company for eight years, after spending 22 years in education. She joined staff at Wayne's Solar, 357 Andrews St., as an energy consultant, the end of last year.

“I decided that, at this point in my life, I am only going to be involved in a career and with products that I feel passionate about,” Morse said, “and (ones) that makes us responsible stewards, focusing on sustainability and leaving as small a 'footprint' as possible. Solar is it!”

Morse offers free in-home estimates, for pool heating systems, solar water heaters, which come with a $1,000 rebate from Florida Power & Light, and more.
