Hospital names new vice president
Randy Pirtle has been named vice president and chief operating officer for Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners, Florida Hospital Volusia-Flagler’s employed group of more than 100 physicians, including primary care physicians and specialists.
An Ormond Beach resident, Pirtle has worked in health services 25 years. He earned a master of health administration degree from Chapman University, in California.
Salon 7 now open
A new place for hair, waxing and ear piercing has opened at 299 W. Granada Blvd. It will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Research on the go: My Knee Guide
A new, free cell phone application has been developed in Ormond Beach, meant to help residents research knee injuries. MyKneeGuide has options to help users visualize their injuries in X-rays, personalize a surgery timeline and find the right surgeon.
"This application was developed by a local Ormond Beach orthopedic," said Ginna Greggo, marketing consultant. "We expect that this free iPhone application will be useful to not only local residents, but worldwide."
