ICI home sees 30% spike, following social media launch

ICI Homes, a house and community builder, has reported a more than 30% spike in sales inquiries following the launch of its presence on social media platforms.

The 32-year-old company now plans to hire three to four new employees to its marketing division this year to further expand its reach.

“Most homebuyers today use the Internet to gather information about home builders and communities,” Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing, said. “We have developed an active … online presence to establish relationships with prospective buyers before they even visit a sales center in one of our communities.”

Messina added that ICI’s new-home sales last year were up more than 10% over 2011.

Web-based insurance firm launches exchange portal

CCI Insurances Life and Health Consultant Joseph McCormick announced this month the launch of a new health-exchange technology system, through his home-based company, MyPrivateExchange.

“(Our) site is an online insurance portal not unlike Travelocity is for the travel industry,” McCormick said. “Employers now have the ability to help themselves while helping their employees at little or no cost, (as well as) stay compliant.”

The site works as a portal for defined contribution health plans, which are an alternative to group insurance plans. Defined contribution plans allow employers the flexibility to offer no contribution, or a fixed dollar amount, to their employees paying premiums on their individual health plans.

McCormick has been in insurance almost six years.
