Reunion Bank celebrates five years in business

Reunion Bank of Florida, headquartered in Tavaras and with a branch in Ormond Beach, will celebrate its fifth year in business Oct. 6. The company also has offices in Port Orange, Kissimmee, Orlando and St. Augustine.

The Ormond branch, at 775 W. Granada Blvd., opened March 2.

Halifax names chief quality officer

Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel has hired Dr. Steven Miles as the health system’s chief quality officer. Miles will oversee the system’s quality, performance and medical safety initiatives, including a medical safety program for patients, visitors and employees.

Miles served on the Halifax Health Board of Commissioners from 1999 to 2002 and the Halifax Fish Community Health Board from 2000 to 2006. He is also a past president of the Halifax Health Medical Staff. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Miles completed his residency and fellowship at Shands Hospital, in Gainesville.

Companies go pink for breast cancer

Panera Bread will have Panera Goes Pink Day Oct. 18th. All cafes will donate 25 cents from the sale of each Pink Ribbon Bagel to MD Anderson – Strike Out Breast Cancer to help breast cancer patients with expenses.

Blue Ribbon Pools, at 400 S. Venture Drive, in South Daytona, also will informally change its name to Pink Ribbon Pools throughout October. The company is asking its customers to buy a $10 shirt for workers to wear on the job, with funds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
