The Red Cross is assisting the family.

A house was called a complete loss after the Ormond Beach Fire Department responded to a fire at about 12:12 a.m. on Dec. 25. The house at 429 Wheatfield Place was 100% involved in fire when crews arrived, according to a city spokeswoman.

The fire was contained to the structure but consumed all of the occupants’ possessions and the home is a complete loss, the spokeswoman said. The fire appeared unintentional and is not being considered suspicious. Occupants of the home were not home at the time of the fire, but returned after being contacted. There

were no injuries.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.

Ormond Beach Fire Department was assisted by units from the Ormond Beach Police Department, Daytona Beach Fire Department, Volusia County Fire Services, EVAC, and Florida Power and Light.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family of four.
