Michael Jones of Ormond Beach was sentenced to 13 years in prison for having sex with an underaged girl.

After a lengthy trial April 28, a former Seabreeze High School technician was sentenced to 13 years in prison for sex with a minor.

Ormond Beach resident Michael Jones was arrested in October 2012 after being caught with a student in the school's auditorium. His sexual relationship with the student began when she was 16 years old.

Though their relationship didn't start until she was a junior, she received inappropriate text messages from him during her sophomore year. Their first sexual encounter occurred during a field trip to St. Augustine in 2011.
