Details: In celebration of National Public Lands Day, this free one-day event is designed to provide information on the benefits of removing non-native invasive plants and planting Florida natives. All participants will receive a Yaupon Holly plant. The event features educational exhibits, a kid's zone and three free kayak tours at 9:30, 10, and 10:30 a.m.

Details: Join James "Zack" Zacharias of the Museum of Arts and Sciences as he takes a look at Florida's history of urban fires. Presented by the Ormond Beach Historical Society Speakers Series. Details: Funds will benefit the foundation. Eat in or take out. Fish is available broiled or fried, and meal includes coleslaw, and choice of a baked potato or french fries. Tickets cost $12. Call 441-4421.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.

Details: Come to the museum and write a poem, inspired by the museum's exhibit "Playing with Perception" by Steven Chayt and Barry Kite. Reserve your spot to read your 3-minute poem by Sept. 30.
