BraTini

When: 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: The Shores Resort and Spa, 2637 S. Atlantic Ave.

Details: Come see inventive and ingenious bra designs modeled by local celebrities to raise money for breast cancer through a fun and festive live auction. All proceeds will go to support local cancer patients, survivors and their families through the Sold 4 the Cause, Inc. organization. Tickets cost $85. Coffee and Conversation

When: 11 a.m to noon

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Join in for an informative talk by Diane Spoden on "The Magical World of Bees," where she will discuss the importance of bees, how colonies work, the products of the hive and how we can help bees. Spoden is a member of the Crescent Beach Ladies Beekeeping Collective. This is a free event, but attendees are asked to register in advance at ormondartmuseum.org or by calling 676-3347.

Saturday, Oct. 6

Sixth-annual Tomoka Fall Fest

When: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Tomoka State Park, 2099 N. Beach St.

Details: Bring the family for a day of learning about the park's natural and cultural resources via hands-on activities for the kids, guided hikes, displays and live demonstrations. There will be guided park tram rides, food for sale, live music, animals and a few surprises. Special guest appearance by Smokey Bear. Visit floridastateparks.org/park-events/Tomoka

ArtWalk

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: Arts On Granada, 67 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Join Arts on Granada for an ArtWalk on the first Saturday of the month, presenting Carol Thornton, Alice Gipson Photographs, Patti Swenson, Pangari Jewelry, Juan Carlos Cahue Jewelry and Mindy Z Colton. Wine and appetizers will be served.

Loretta Youngman's opening art reception

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Frame of Mind, 23 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Come see the gallery's October display comprised of works by Loretta Youngman. Her series focuses on the mingling of tranquil colors and textures by means of acrylic and watercolor. 

Italian Festa

When: 6:30-10 p.m.

Where: Prince of Peace Hall, 600 S. Nova Road

Details: This event, held behind the church, will have a dinner, followed by a floor show, dancing, as well as music and entertainment by Tim Rippey. Homemade lasagna with Galbani cheeses will be served for dinner. Open to the public. Entrance costs $12 for members and $15 for non-members. Call 334-0593 for tickets.

Third-annual Mutt Putt

When: 6:30 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7

Where: Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf, 226 Cardinal Drive

Details: Presented by Fields Auto Group of Daytona Beach, Hush Puppy Haven's event has two categories: a tournament on Saturday and an open play on Sunday. This event raises funds for the pets with HPH. Visit hushpuppyhaven.org for more information

Sunday, Oct. 7

Pancake breakfast

When: 8 a.m. to noon

Where: St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd.

Details: Join Father Eamonn Gill Council 13018 Knights of Columbus for an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast in the social hall. The meal also includes scrambled eggs, a sausage link, orange juice and coffee. Costs $5 for adults. Children under 12 eat free. All are welcome.

Fired Up for a Cure

When: 4 p.m.

Where: Men’s Refinery, 50 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Ormond Beach Firefighters Charities are "battling cancer by buzzing heads." All of the proceeds of the event will benefit Light the Way, an organization that helps cancer patients and their families with individual needs in Volusia County. Local firefighters will shave their heads for the cause, including Fire Battalion Commander Nate Quartier. Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey will also shave his head. Tuesday, Oct. 9

Osteoporosis Education Program

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Library auditorium, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: The National Osteoporosis Foundation Education and Support Group of Ormond Beach presents "Osteoporosis Medications – Ask Your Questions." Pharmacist William Stark will be conducting the presentation. Call Barr and Associates Physical Therapy at 673-3535.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

Ormond Beach candidates forum

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Elementary School Auditorium, 100 Corbin Ave.

Details: Citizens for Ormond Beach will be hosting a candidates forum for the mayoral and City Commission candidates, as well as for the candidates for the Florida House of Representatives District 25 and 26 an the United States House of Representatives District 6. The mayoral and City Commission candidates will answer questions about the future of the city, what they will be bringing to the commission and if Ormond Beach has been growing in a responsible way. Meet and greet the candidates prior to the forum, which officially starts at 7 p.m.

Halifax Genealogical Society

When: 1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Library Auditorium, 30 S. Beach St. 

Details: Learn what to do with years of family research with Kathy Stickney in "Pass It On: Sharing Your Genealogical Research." There will be a special educational class after the meeting by Becky Berman, titled "All About the HGS Facebook Page." Visitors welcome.

Saturday, Oct. 13

Day of reflection and prayer

When: 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Where: St.Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd.
