Cinco de Mayo Block Party

When: 5 p.m.

Where: European Village, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway, Palm Coast

Details: Come and celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the European Village. There will be live music, vendors, and food and drink specials all night long. 

"Proof" at Flagler Playhouse

When: 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, May 5-7; and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8.

Charmette's annual Women in Red luncheon

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Hilton Garden Inn, 55 Town Center Blvd., Palm Coast

Details: The St. Johns-Putnam-Flagler County Chapter of the Charmettes Inc. invites the community to its annual luncheon, and this year's theme is "Women of Faith, Praying for a Cure." The luncheon promotes cancer awareness in local communities. The guest speaker will be Pearl Roziers, a published author who spent 36 years in the Duval County school system. Third-annual Ormond Beach Beer Fest

When: 12-5 p.m.

Where: Destination Daytona Pavilion, 1651 N. U.S. 1, Ormond Beach

Details: Join the Rotary of Ormond Beach and S.R. Perrott for this free beer festival. Enjoy live music, food trucks and a beer tasting ($35, held from 1-5 p.m.) that includes over 100 different beers from over 35 different breweries. Proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club.  

Sunshine and Sandals social

Daytona Solisti Chamber Orchestra presents “Beethovenfest”

Details: The Daytona Solisti Chamber Orchestra will celebrate Beethoven with this concluding concert of its Solisti's 2021-2022 season. The orchestra will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21: Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15, featuring pianist Michael Rickman and the "Creatures of Prometheus" overture. Free quilt trunk show

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: Seabreeze United Church of Christ, 501 N. Wild Ave., Daytona Beach

Details: The next Racing Fingers Quilt Guild meeting will feature a trunk show presented by Alissa Lapinsky, owner of Oceans of Thread in DeLand. It is free and open to the public. Please park behind the church and enter via the kitchen door. The club will also host a "Sit 'n Sew" on Tuesday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location; bring your sewing machine. Grief support group

Where: Flagler Beach United Methodist Church's Gage Hall, 1520 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach

Details: The community is invited to join the Kindred Hospice grief support group if you are grieving the loss of a loved one. Masks are optional. Contact Bereavement Coordinator Kathy Seibert at 386-597-6306.

Library program on Volusia Forever
