Thursday, July 4

Ormond Beach Independence Day celebration

When: 6-9:30 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive

Details: Head to the four parks at the base of the Granada Bridge to enjoy the city's Fourth of July celebration. Food vendors, kids games, live music and a firework display. Parking available at public lots. Shuttle service provided.

Friday, July 5

'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms'

When: 5-8:30 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive

Details: Catch this month's Movie on the Halifax, presented by the city's Department of Leisure Services. Movie is rated PG. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Bring chair or blanket. Free admission. Call 676-3216.

Free Family Art Night

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Create your own stamps using repurposed materials. Enjoy food from Southern State of Mind and Vitamina-T Tacos food trucks before heading over to Rockefeller Gardens for Movies on the Halifax.

Saturday, July 6

Ormond Historical Bus Tour

When: 9:45 a.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: See much of the history and scenery of Ormond Beach via the Ormond Beach Historical Society’s bus tour. Beginning at The Casements, the tour includes the Loop, the Three Chimneys Sugar Mill Ruins and a visit to see the Fairchild Oak. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the MacDonald House, located at 38 E. Granada Blvd. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $20 for Historical Society members and $7 for ages 5-12. Tour takes about two hours. Call 677-7005.

Monday, July 8

Civil Discourse

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Library Auditorium, 30 St. Beach St.

Details: Join the next meeting to discuss water use and conservation. Civil Discourse's goal is to bring citizens together with differing points of view to discuss subjects.

Tuesday, July 9

Pilot Club of Daytona Beach

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Palmetto Club, 1000 S. Beach St.

Details: Attend the club's monthly meeting, where the 2019-2020 plans of work and budget will be approved. Dinner costs $20. Contact Club President Diane Lessard at 341-0479 by July 4 to attend.

Wednesday, July 10

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers free dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2-4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.

Help a Diabetic Child foundation

When: 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Family YMCA, 500 Sterthaus Drive

Details: The Volusia County Division, in partnership with Halifax Health and the Volusia Flagler YMCA Healthy Living Centers are sponsoring this Diabetic Outreach Series. The topic will be "Optimal Wellness - a Whole Self approach to nutrition, bridging together the 7 Chakras of Health through the experience of eating and living."
