Dueling pianos

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Fletcher's Irish Pub, 393 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Enjoy the competition and humor of dueling pianos. Reserve a seat for $5. Call 677-2700.

Friday, Aug. 16

Toddler Time

When: 9:30-11 a.m.

Where: St. James Episcopal Church, 38 S. Halifax Drive

Details: This weekly program, held in the Parish Life Center's nursery, is for parents and children ages 1-4. Activities will include circle time, structured play, themed crafts and a snack. Contact Jillian Chance at 904-589-0365.

Saturday, Aug. 17

Ormond Beach Historical Loop Bus Tour

When: 9:45 a.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: See much of the history and scenery of Ormond Beach via the Ormond Beach Historical Society’s bus tour. Beginning at The Casements, the tour includes the Loop, the Three Chimneys Sugar Mill Ruins and a visit to see the Fairchild Oak. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the MacDonald House, located at 38 E. Granada Blvd. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $20 for Historical Society members and $7 for ages 5-12. Tour takes about two hours. Call 677-7005.

Military, First Responder Appreciation Day

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Volusia Mall, 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Details: Join Ormond Strong for a military and first responder family appreciation day. There will be free food, live music, resource vendors, award ceremonies, kid activities and more. Community is invited. Call 566-3685. 

Tuesday, Aug. 20

Democratic Club of Northeast Volusia County

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Red Lobster, 2625 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Details: Join the club for its regular meeting, open to all democrats. The meeting room will be available at 5:30 p.m. for those wanting dinner and time to socialize.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2-4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.
