Friday, Feb. 1

Walk with the manager

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Municipal Airport Control Tower, 725 Hull Road

Details: Join City Manager Joyce Shanahan on a two-mile walk. Meet at the Shuffleboard Complex next to the control tower. Airport Manager Steven Lichliter will be the guest walker for the event. 

Fresh Works 1: Color

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: The Florida Women's Arts Association is invited the public to attend a champagne artists' reception of the exhibition. The artwork will be on display until Feb. 25.

Saturday, Feb. 2

Granada Grand Festival of the Arts

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach City Hall, 22 S. Beach St.

Details: Join Ormond Beach MainStreet and the Ormond Arts District for this fifth-annual festival featuring all things art and family-friendly activities. Contact Becky Parker at [email protected] or at 492-2938.

4 Chaplains Ceremony

When: 2 p.m.

Where: American Legion Post no. 267, 156 New Britain Ave.

Details: On the USS Dorchester during World War II, the four chaplains aboard have their life jackets to fellow seamen as the ship sank after being struck by a German torpedo. The chaplains died, and the ceremony will honor their sacrifice. Ceremony is open to the public. 

Art Walk

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: Frame of Mind, 23 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Every first Saturday of the month, Ormond Beach celebrates culture with six gallery stops featuring over 100 artists. Most of the artwork is created by local artists, but some galleries also feature international pieces as well. The stops for the walk are Frame of Mind, Arts on Granada, Ocean Art Gallery, Thays Art Gallery, Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Ocean Child Boutique. Enjoy the complimentary shuttle service to each stop.

Sunday, Feb. 3

Pancake breakfast

When: 8 a.m. to noon

Where: Social Hall at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd.

Details: The Father Eamonn Gill Council 13018 Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, a sausage link, orange juice and coffee. Costs $5. Children under 12 eat free. Open to the public.

Old Florida Plantation tour

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Tomoka State Park, 2099 N. Beach St.

Details: Enjoy a guided tour of Bulow Plantation Ruins State Park, see re-enactors tells stories of James Ormond and Thomas Henry Dummet at 11:30 a.m. at James Ormond Park. Bring lunch. Dress appropriately, as well as bring water and bug repellant. Tickets cost $12; $10 for Ormond Beach Historical Society members. Children ages 8-12 cost $5. Call 677-7005 or visit ormondhistory.org

Monday, Feb. 4

Coffee with Commissioner Kent

When: 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Where: 130 Magnolia Drive

Details: Join City Commissioner Troy Kent for a cup of coffee and a chance to speak at his home. 

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Watercolor workshop

When: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Attend this Elements of Arts workshop taught by Pat Spano. Workshop will include demonstrations and hands-on practice. All supplies are provided. Bring sketchbook and phone, and if you have one, an iPad. This workshop is for students with some watercolor experience. Bring snack or lunch. Costs $150 for members, and $165 for non-members.
