Live painting session at Gallery500

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: Gallery500 at One Daytona, 1870 Victory Circle, suite H810

Details: Gallery500 will host internationally-acclaimed artist Bill Patterson for a live painting of the Gibson G-45 studio guitar that Daytona International Speedway will present to Luke Combs at the pre-race concert during the Daytona 500. Event is open to the public. Additionally, local artist J. Scott Nicol will unveil the painting he completed during a VIP reception on Jan. 29. Call 262-1912.

Saturday, Feb. 13

SPCA pet shots

When: 2:30-4 p.m.

Where: Skate and Shake, 251 N. U.S. 1 

Details: Get your pet vaccinated at a lower cost. Rabies shots will cost $5 for 1-year vaccinations $12 for 3-year vaccinations. Other shots offered include dog distemper/parvo combo, dog flu, cat distemper combo, feline leukemia and more. Heartworm prevention and flea control products will be available for purchase. All vaccinations are administered with a licensed veterinarian. Cash only for shots; cards accepted for product purchase. No appointment needed. Clinic is open to everyone. Backyard urban chicken class

When: 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Virtual on Zoom

Details: Learn how to keep chickens and start producing your own eggs with Kalan Taylor, an agriculture and natural resources agent for the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension. She will discuss chicken breeds, housing, health care, nutrition, manure management and food safety, and, will also explain how to find out if your property us approved for chicken farming. Reed Pens and Markers Virtual Workshop: Drawing & Mark Making with Van Gogh

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Virtual on Zoom

Details: In this virtual class, artist Colleen Flannery Caceres will walk you through the making techniques of Van Gogh in his paintings and drawings and teach you facts about his life. Then, you will use reed, fountain pens and markers to create two studies of his work. Workshop costs $60 for museum members and $67 for non-members. Some supplies included.
