Safe boating class

When: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 12 and June 19

Where: Halifax River Yacht Club, 346 Beach St.

Details: Are you working to obtain a state boating safety education ID? The Daytona Beach Sail and Power Squadron is offering a two-day safe boating course that is an introduction to boating, boat handling, navigation rules, and more. Course materials cost $39.40. Low-cost pet shot clinic

When: 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Where: Skate and Shake, 251 N. U.S. 1

Details: Get your pet vaccinated at a lower cost. Rabies shots will cost $5 for 1-year vaccinations. Other shots offered include dog distemper/parvo combo, dog flu, cat distemper combo, feline leukemia and more. Heartworm prevention and flea control products will be available for purchase. All vaccinations are administered with a licensed veterinarian. 8th-annual Spring Exhibit at the Casements

Details: The Casements Camera Club presents its 8th-annual spring exhibit, opening June 4 and running through June 29. Featuring a variety of photos taken by the Camera Club, the public is invited to see their works and vote for their favorite.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive

Details: Sponsored by The Casements, the Volusia County Public Library and Ormond MainStreet, this free summer event features a brand-new alphabet book by local artist Mary Wentzel, titled, "Crazy's A to Z For Kids." The giant pages of the book circle Rockefeller park during park hours. Free coloring pages can be picked up inside the visitor's information desk inside The Casements or in the Children's section of the Ormond Beach Regional Library.
