Thursday, Dec. 6

Neighborhood meeting

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Baymont Inn and Suites, 175 Interchange Blvd.

Details: This is a meeting to discuss the four story, 124-room Extended Stay America project proposed for 275 Interchange Blvd. The project seeks a Planned Business Development rezoning. 

Friday, Dec. 7

Sixth-annual Christmas Boat Parade

When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Ormond Outdoor Adventures, 1003 N. U.S. 1

Details: See the annual Tomoka River Parade. View the boats from the banks of the river. Bring an unwrapped toy donation for Toys for Tots. Food may be purchased from a food truck. Bring chairs. Parking is available for the cost of one toy, worth at least $20. 

'It's a Wonderful Life'

When: 6:30-9 p.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: This is the Movie on the Halifax for December. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

A Gift of Carols

When: 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7 & 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1

Saturday, Dec. 8

Live Music Sound Journey

When: 10-11:30 a.m.

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Join DeLuna in the galleries to explore listening to, appreciating and creating sound. Learn how sound can play a powerful part in the healing process. Open to participants 16 and older. Costs $35 for members; $38.50 for non-members. Register at ormondartmuseum.org or call 676-3347.

Holiday Tour of Homes

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Anderson-Price Memorial Building, 42 N. Beach St.

Details: Join the Ormond Beach Historical Society for its 12th-annual tour, a charity event that will feature five homes, two historic commercial buildings and two historic house museums. This is the largest fundraiser for OBHS, and is a self-guided tour. Ticket includes a map of all locations and information about the properties. Tickets bought in advance cost $25 for non-members, $22 for members. They cost $30 on the day of the tour. Visit ormondhistory.org

28th-annual HOme for the HOlidays Parade

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Downtown Ormond Beach

Details: This year's parade is themed around "Ringing in the Season" and will begin Yonge Street and Division Avenue, moving north to Granada Boulevard, and then turning east to South Beach Street. Ormond MainStreet will have a tree lighting before the parade begins. Call 676-3241 or email [email protected].

Advent Lessons and Carols

When: 5 p.m.

Where: St. James Episcopal Church, 38 S. Halifax Drive

Details: A service of Advent Lessons and Carols will be presented with music by Tye, Ord, Rowan Fedak and Manz. Open to the public. Call 677-0872.

Monday, Dec. 10

Celebrate the holidays with natives

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Piggotte Community Center, 504 Big Tree Road

Details: This special meeting by the Florida Native Plant Society Pawpaw Chapter will be filled with festive foods and an annual native plant auction. Free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Great Kids Holiday Show

When: 6 p.m.

Where: First United Methodist Church, located at 336 S. Halifax Drive

Details: Celebrate the holiday season with a "Christmas Countdown" show by the Great Kids Learning Center.

Thursday, Dec. 13

Halifax Genealogical Society

When: 1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Library Auditorium, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: Drew Smith presents, "Finding Cousins and Ancestors Using Ancestry DNA." Learn to interpret results and make contact with matches. Visitors welcome. Also, join the Society at 1-4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, for one-on-one help with family research. Call 681-9422

Magical Christmas Village Display

When: 5:30-10 p.m., daily

Where: 111 Pine Creek Court
