Ormond Beach kids were on their best behavior Saturday morning, as they dined with the man they hoped would bring them toys in just a few short days.

The Casements' eighth-annual Breakfast with Santa event sold more than 300 tickets to eager children who were dressed up in their holiday best to meet the man of the hour. Sadie Van Brocklin was finishing up her pancakes so she could score her place in line to sit on Santa's lap. Her mom, Brook, said they have been coming to this event for three years.

"The Casements is such a beautiful place," said Van Brocklin. "We love it here."

Hosted by The Casements Guild and the city of Ormond Beach's Department of Leisure Services, the event included breakfast, face-painting, cookie decorating, storytelling, reindeer crafts and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Maryann Zeledon, recreation program specialist for the city's Leisure Services Department, said that she enjoys these holiday events because its a way to get the community together during the hectic holiday season.

"Its just about that spirit and the merriment that everyone feels," Zeledon said. "You feel like you have this extended family, and that's such a great feeling to know that we can just come together. You can get so busy with presents, and this is just a chance to do something special together."

The event was sponsored by T.G.I.Friday's and The Paint Drop by Valspar.
