A five-year-old program, Challenger Volleyball, hosted by the Special Populations Division of the Nova Community Center, opened its latest season last month.

Meeting every Tuesday, the program’s seven participants learn how to work as a team, practice drills and compete. They are currently working on hitting the ball continuously without catching.

The Special Populations Division’s also closed out its newest program, Explore the Arts, last month. The program’s six participants decorated heart-shaped cookies and made picture frames for Valentine’s Day.

Explore the Arts will be offered again this fall. Challenger Baseball and Sports of All Sorts (for special-needs children ages 5-10) will open next month, as well.
