Challenger steps forward for city commission race

Man seeks Zone 2 seat.

The first nonincumbent has entered this year’s City Commission race. Dann Dragone, 55, filed papers with the city clerk on June 4 to challenge Troy Kent for the Zone 2 seat. Kent, as well as the rest of the commission, has filed to run for re-election.

Dragone owns a lawn and landscaping business and has resided in Ormond Beach for 20 years.

He is an ambassador for the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce and graduated from the Chamber’s recent leadership class. He is president of Arbor Trails HOA, and was a coach in Ormond Beach Soccer for eight years.

He has a wife and two daughters.
