Rockefeller Gardens was filled with hungry stomachs Sept. 20.

Smells of good BBQ poured out from the Rockefeller Gardens Sept. 20, as the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted its third annual King of the Grill competition.

During the seven-hour long event, professional judges taste both professional and amateur grillers. Of the many residents that came to the event, 300 signed up to be amateur judges for both professional and amateur grillers. They would determine the People’s Choice Award. Both grill categories had six chances of winning.

Seven professional grillers and 14 amateur grillers competed for the titles.

“The professionals are people who grill as a part of their business,” the chamber’s Event Planner Tia Rush said. “Ameuter grillers are our backyard grillers that all think they rock more than the other. It’s very testosterone level driven.”
