Chewy's recovering from surgery and back to his old self

Over $1,200 was raised for the dog's surgery after he was hit by a car last month.

Though he's survived plenty of car wrecks and rattlesnake bites, Chewy nearly lost the ability to use one of his back legs after being run over by a car last month. But thanks to the help of the community, his owner, Chris Walls, was able to raise $1,205 to pay for his pup's surgery.

Chewy had the operation he needed to repair his leg, and is currently recovering. Walls said he'll be getting into trouble again in no time.

"He's putting some weight on the leg," Walls said, "and his personality is back 100%."
