Child dies in Ormond Beach crash near Tomoka State Park

The four-year-old girl died at the scene after the vehicle she traveled in hit an oak tree, police report.

A four-year-old girl died from injuries sustained in a car crash in the 2000 block of North Beach Street the evening of Tuesday, May 19, Ormond Beach Police reported.

The girl, Lilian Brown, was one of four people ⁠— two adults and two children ⁠— in the car, which crashed when it veered left and struck an oak tree, just south of the Tomoka State Park entrance, according to a press release by OBPD. The crash occurred at around 8:40 p.m. The adults were transported to local hospitals for their injuries, and the other juvenile was transported from the scene by Volusia County Air One. Brown died at the scene. 

OBPD said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
