Morris B. Sims, 51, of Port Orange, resigned from his position with the city’s public works department, effective Feb. 8, two days after he told police he lost a city issued camera after meeting someone he met on the personals section of Craigslist.

According to the report, Sims told police he would pay for the camera and that he just wanted the situation to go away.

The police said no charges would be filed against John Conway, 22, of Daytona Beach, who was the individual Sims met.
