The firm acts on behalf of the city in the state legislature

The City Commission has renewed the services of Pennington, Moore, Wilkinson, Bell and Dunbar for state legislative lobbying services for the 2015 season. The city has retained the firm since 2001.

During the 2014 session, the firm monitored 2,000 bills that were filed and 258 bills that were sent to the governor.

In the coming year, according to city documents, Pennington will lobby state officials for infrastructure funding opportunities for Ormond Crossings, a planned development on North U.S. 1; work toward pension reform for government workers; and act on behalf of the city to defeat legislation that would have a negative impact on Ormond Beach residents.

The fee for the services will be $32,000, and the money is included in the city budget.
