City wastewater employee falls into empty tank

The employee fell into the tank as they were cleaning it.

While on the job, an employee at the Ormond Beach wastewater treatment plant fell into an empty tank on Wednesday, Oct. 4

The accident happened around noon as the employee was cleaning an empty equalization tank. According to a city press release, the employee fell about 10 feet, but remained conscious and alert. He was later transported to a local hospital.

This is the first accident of its kind in Ormond Beach.
